Helping One Guy is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary. We are going to be inviting back former honorees, have a full band and Eddie Bishop will be speaking. To make it better we are honoring the man himself, Bob Kelly. Bob is used to serving others but has had a tough time with his health this year. Let’s get together and celebrate this 10th anniversary.
In 1999, Bob was diagnosed with Diabetes, and Heart Disease. His heart disease required him to have Cardiac Bypass surgery which was extensive, and his recovery was good and he stayed healthy and stable for years. In 2021 it seems as though Bob ” Hit a Wall” to coin a phrase from one of his many Doctors.
After what seemed like a minor injury to the great toe on his right foot, it just never healed. This led him
to see a vascular surgeon who shared with him that the circulation to both lower extremities was almost nonexistent which is the reason behind his toe injury not healing. He needed stenting to his right leg, to help the circulation. During one of his many doctor visits, it was discovered that he now had developed Atrial Fibrillation, another life-threatening cardiac issue.
After multiple hospitalizations, amputations of two toes, many new medications, and mounting medical bills, Bob is slowly improving, but the last 14 months have taken their toll. His stamina, ambulation, and general well-being have been impacted.
His greatest disappointment has been his having to give up his leadership role with HOG, the
ministry that he founded 10 years ago. But, Bob is a trooper, and with the help and support from his
family and friends, he continues to Praise God daily for bringing him this far.
