Biography

I founded HOG (Helping One Guy) in 2012. I never planned or thought it would grow like it has. We do a dinner every other month for a man going through a life-changing crisis. We started small (42 people), and we have had as many as (386 guests), and we average about (135 guests per dinner). Here is what we, the (Board) love: 100% of the money raised goes to our HOG Dinner Honoree. Nobody on the Board receives a dime. We have raised over $400,000 since 2012.

Shannan Sikorski

President

Biography

Shannan Sikorski is the owner and proprietor of Big Shanty Barber Shop in Kennesaw, Georgia. She was born and raised in Kennesaw and has been cutting hair in Kennesaw since she was 15. She’s owned two shops on Main Street since 1994. She’s been married to her husband, Conrad, for twelve years, and they love raising their three dogs. Shannan’s passion is giving back to the community that has cared for her for so long. She’s a firm believer that God put us here to love one another and serve one another – and when we are serving, we show His love the best.

David Zivic

Biography

David Zivic was born in Pittsburgh, PA. Part of a large family, the majority of whom still live there, David and his family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where he completed his school days. David began his career in the automotive field by completing his education at G.M. Training school as a painter technician. Upon finishing, David relocated to Georgia, where he worked at two automotive dealerships before opening his own collision repair shop. David operated his shop for 25 years, and when combined with his other experience, he wrapped up a very successful 50 -year career in the automotive field.

David is married to the love of his life, Patricia. And with five children and four grandchildren, he considers himself extremely blessed. As far back as he can remember, David has always loved the Lord and has been a man of God. David is very active at NorthStar Church, and has been for more than 20 years – thanks to his more than 35-year friendship with Marlon Longacre. Marlon’s encouragement got David to visit NorthStar. David also has been friends with Helping One Guy founder, Bob Kelly, for many years. He has been involved with Helping One Guy since “Day One” and was the first volunteer to come aboard.

Austin Porter

Biography

Austin Porter has been on staff at Freedom Church for 13 years, where he serves as the Experiences Pastor.

Freedom Church has been recognized by Outreach Magazine as one of the fastest growing churches in the country, and continues to serve our local community in so many tremendous ways. In 2023, Freedom Church once again grew 20% year over year, saw over 400 people put their trust in Jesus, and over 130 people baptized.

Austin is also very active in our community, personally, as he serves on the Executive Board of Directors as the 2024 President Elect for the Kennesaw Business Association, serves on the Executive Board of Directors as the President for the Touchdown Club of North Cobb High School’s Football Program, and as the Head Coach for the 8th Grade Jr. Warriors football team.

He’s married to his wife Teresa of 17 years, and has two kids – Kellon & Josie.

Paul Nelson

Biography

I met Bob Kelly through our mutual love of baseball as we both spent many years and countless hours with our boys at the Lassiter High School and East Cobb Baseball complexes. We would frequently run into each other at the baseball fields and talk about the game we loved so much and a great friendship developed. One day Bob told me about his newly formed Helping One Guy Organization and asked me to attend one of the dinners so I could check it out. I accepted his invitation and was so impressed by the outpouring of love and support that the organization was giving to men in the community that were facing a life changing crisis. Then two years later Bob asked me to be on the Board @ HOG and I accepted. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have been married to the love of my life (Ellen) for 44 years and God blessed us with 4 children and 4 grandchildren. I was a business owner for 25 years and currently serve as the Vice President of Business Development @ Global Clothing Industries in Atlanta.

Trecie Wiggins

Biography

Trecie Wiggins

Trecie is a long-time resident of Kennesaw. Her family moved here when she was six years old. She is the daughter of Rusty and Nancy Hightower. Trecie went to Big Shanty, Awtrey, and North Cobb. She is married to Chris Wiggins, also a long-time resident of Kennesaw. The two grew up together and have been friends since elementary school. Trecie and Chris have two adult children who are married to wonderful spouses: their son Jason Hightower, and his wife Lacey, as well as their daughter Ashleigh Prince, and her husband Tyson. Jacob and Lacey are parents of a beautiful baby boy, Rusty Jet. Ashleigh and Tyson are relocating to Florida, as Tyson is a member of the US Coast Guard and they are stationed in Pensacola.

Trecie is a retired Cob County School District teacher. She taught primary grades for 32 years. Trecie loves children, and now gets to stay home and care for her beautiful grandson.

Paul Letalien

Biography

Paul grew up in Concord New Hampshire and moved to Georgia in 1989. His education includes New Hampshire College, New Hampshire Technical Institute, Franklin Pierce College, and Kennesaw College.

In business, Paul founded Archer Restoration Services in late 1999. He sold that company in 2019. He served on the Cobb County School Foundation Board for over six years and currently serves as a director on the Cobb EMC Foundation Board. Paul is a partner at Triton Property management and is also a partner in Governors Gun Club in Kennesaw. He is part owner of Pizza by Fuscos in Acworth, as well as Vibo Valentia Enterprises. Finally, Paul is currently the President of Cyclone Solutions Inc.

Paul is a Georgia licensed general contractor. In 2012 he committed to finance the full cost of a public school teacher for two years at North Cobb High School. This teacher taught building trade courses. This has never been done in a public school and helped solidify the Go Build Georgia initiative.

Paul has been married for over 30 years to Cathy Letalien. He likes to travel, ride motorcycles and bicycles in his free time. His wife and he attend church at Branches of Christ in Acworth.

Rob Moon

Biography

Rob was born and raised in Kennesaw, GA. A graduate of North Cobb High School, he earned a degree in Environmental Horticulture from Chattahoochee Technical School.

Rob currently resides in Acworth, GA, with his wife, Laura, and their daughter, Ella. He and his family enjoy going to Braves games, outdoor activities, and vacationing at the beach.

Robin Boyer

Biography

Robin Boyer moved to Georgia in ‘91 with her husband Marc. They started their family here, living 8 years in Kennesaw and then moving to their current home in Acworth. Robin is mom of two wonderful daughters, Alison and Kailey. Her home church is NorthStar since 2002. She has taught Sunday school at NorthStar for over 15 years. She coached baseball and kickball for the Acworth Horizon League and she also helps with the adult special needs programs. Robin has coached for Cobb County Special Olympics for more than 20 years. She also currently serves on the board of The Special Needs Development Group. I am honored to serve this community with the Helping One Guy Ministry!

Steve Kruger

Biography

Steve is one of the original Helping One Guy (HOG) team members, helping Bob Kelly get HOG started, turning an idea into reality.

Steve has been a member of Northstar Church for 14 years and enjoys volunteering and helping where he can. He is married to his beautiful wife Lisa Kruger and they are blessed with six children and four grandchildren. Steve enjoys running and photography. Steve is one of the HOG photographers.
